A signature community event, which is often sold-out, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Brunch has swelled to welcome more than 300 people from Palm Beach and Broward counties. The 2027 Breakfast promises to be a memorable event, recognizing 26 years of “Bringing Community Together Around Black History.”
Keynote speaker will be Ronda Smith, principal of Plumosa Elementary School in Delray Beach. A proud graduate of A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, she has remained deeply rooted in her community, committed to providing a world-class educational experience that blends academic rigor, artistic excellence, and meaningful relationships. In 2025, Principal Smith was honored with the Florida Alliance for Arts Education School Leadership Award, a recognition that reflects both her personal journey and her unwavering belief in the power of the arts to inspire, empower, and transform lives. The arts have shaped who she is as an educator and leader, instilling in her the values of creativity, resilience, and vision.
